Wednesday Evening by Andrewnewtonart Wednesday Evening by Andrewnewtonart
This painting might be my most realistic to date in my view, for its use of colour and light.
I wanted an outside shot, with natural light on the subject.. Again its harshly cropped like a snapshot and the subject gazes at his garden wall in the back garden.

The extreme blur of the house in the background behind the wall, this worked well next to the glasses sunglazed reflections of the wall opposite the character.

The title of the piece symbolizes a mundane evening of someone gazing into nothingness.

I love the way you add texture to the skin, it creates this most lovely effect, beyond realism into something much more human. As if including flaws in skin made it that much more beautiful.

Ughh, this is brilliant - the way your face contains so many little detailed shapes of color and light while the out of focus part is all simple. Totally makes sense. You're an incredible artist.

Hi - I love your work. It looks just like photo shop, but it's in the trad artists section so I'm guessing it's acrylic. I also work photo realistically and am really impressed with how you manage to maintain such interesting skin tones. I'm concentrating on watercolour portraits right now, but intend to move onto oils so that I can blend more easily.
Any tips would be appreciated! :)
